Updates & Reminders Week of 8.12.24

Dear Herrick Families,
I hope all of you enjoyed your summer break! I would like to welcome back all of our students.
The following are updates & reminders for the week of 8.12.24:

1) The first day of school is Monday, August 12th. School starts at 7:46 a.m. The school gates will open
at 7:35 a.m.  Support staff will be available to help students and parents with answering questions.

2) We have valet drop-off at the front and back of our school. Please do not park in the valet lanes.

3) All lower grade students up to 2nd grade can be dropped off at the front of our school.  All 3rd-5th grade
students may be dropped off at the back of our school.

4) All parents are welcome to come inside our campus on the first day of school.

5) We will have poster boards at the front and back of our campus with grade level rosters.  Parents are welcome
to find their child's classroom using the posters.

6) All students in UTK, UTKCC, and Kinder will have an orientation at 9 a.m. in the auditorium.  During the
orientation, students will be introduced to their classroom teacher.  Students should attend with a parent(s)
and should not be dropped off earlier than 9a.m.

7) Monday is a Minimum Day and school will be out at 12:19 p.m.

8) Only parents of students in PSC, PALS, UTK, UTKCC, and Kinder will be allowed into our campus for pickup.
All other parents should wait outside the gates when picking up a student.

9) Please do not double park to pick up your child. This is very dangerous and could result in a serious accident.      If staff notices that a parent is double parked and we feel it would be dangerous to release the student, we will
not be able to release the student.

10) Students will receive a school folder with important school information on the first day of school.  We
encourage all parents to review this information.

11) Tuesday will be early dismissal and school will be out at 1:09 p.m.

12) Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be regular school days and dismissal will be at 2:09 p.m.

13) We are a uniform school and all students are expected to wear a school uniform every day.  We will have a
2 week grace period to allow for parents to purchase uniforms.  We will be having a school uniform sale on
Tuesday morning and after school by our front school gate.

We are looking forward to an exciting first day of school! Have a great week!
