Updates and Reminders Week of 11.11.24

Good Afternoon Herrick Families,

The following are this week's updates and reminders:

1) There is no school on Monday in honor of Veteran's Day.  School resumes on Tuesday.

2) This week we have parent conferences.  It is very important that all parents attend their child's teacher/parent conference as academic progress, work habits, and behavior will be discussed.  We encourage you to attend.

3) Due to parent conferences, there will be NO HIGH DOSE TUTORING this week. Tutoring will resume the following week. 

4) On Tuesday we have a parent workshop presented by the LA Department of Mental Health on the topics of Grief, Loss and Resilience.  It will be at 8:15 a.m. in the Parent Center.  Parents may also attend via zoom at https://lausd.zoom.us/j/6013243139?omn=84137211908 

5) On Tuesday we have early dismissal and school will be out at 1:09 p.m.

6) Wednesday will be a Minimum Day and school will be out at 12:39 p.m.  The dismissal time has changed from last year and the students are being dismissed 20 minutes later. 

7) On Wednesday we have Wellness Pilates at 8:00 a.m. in the Parent Center. 

8) Thursday will be a Minimum Day and school will be out at 12:39 p.m.

9) On Thursday it will be Make Up day for School Pictures.  All students who are newly enrolled or were absent on the initial date for Picture Day, will have an opportunity to take a photo. 

10) On Thursday there will be a PTA Meeting. It will be at 8:15 am and all parent members will meet in the parent center or also have the option to meet via zoom https://lausd.zoom.us/j/6013243139?omn=86921143236

11) Friday will be a Minimum Day and school will be out at 12:39 p.m.

12) On Friday we will have the Child ID Safety program on our campus.  Envelopes with more information were already sent with students.  If you are interested in making a purchase, please have your child return the envelope with payment. 

13) Saturday we have Beautification Day from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Families may attend but must first register to volunteer for the event.  Please call our office and speak to Sarah Chavez, Community Representative, for more information on how to register to volunteer
