Hello Herrick Families,
The following are this week's updates and reminders:
1) In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., school will be closed on Monday, January 20. School will resume on Tuesday, January 21st.
2) On Tuesday we have a parent workshop on the topic of Suicide Prevention and Resilience. It will be presented by DMH in the Parent Center and will begin at 8:15 a.m. You may also attend via zoom at https://lausd.zoom.us/j/6013243139?omn=84137211908
3) Tuesday will be early dismissal and school will be out at 1:09 p.m.
4) On Wednesday we have a parent workshop on the topic of "The Power of Words." It will be presented by Carmen Camacho in the Parent Center and will begin at 8:15 a.m.
5) On Thursday we have a parent workshop on the topic of "Understanding Childhood Behaviors." It will be presented by DMN in the Parent Center at 8:15 a.m. Parents may also attend the workshop via zoom at: https://lausd.zoom.us/j/6013243139?omn=84137211908
6) On Friday we have "Coffee with the Principal" in the Parent Center. It will begin at 8:15 a.m. and all parents are invited to attend. We will have more information on the school budget for 2025-26 school year.
7) We still have uniforms and sweatshirts available for sale. Please contact our community representative, Sarah Chavez, for more information on purchasing.
8) It is important that all students who sign up for Saturday Field Trips attend the trip. Lately we have had many students who sign up and do not show up for the field trip. Moving forward, any students who miss their Saturday field trip will no longer be able to attend any field trips scheduled on Saturdays. Please make sure your child attends if he/she is signed up. If for any reason the student is not able to attend, please notify the office 24 hours before the trip so that another student can be invited to the field trip.
