Hello Herrick Families,
The following are updates and reminders for the week of 4.22.24:
1) This week our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will begin their SBAC State Test. Testing will begin
on Monday. If your child is in these grades, it is advised that they go to sleep Sunday night
between 8-9 p.m. and alsobhave breakfast in the morning. They should have breakfast at home or
at school and get plenty of sleep.
2) Tuesday is early dismissal and school will be out at 1:09 p.m.
3) Wednesday there is no School in observance of the Armenian Genocide. School will resume
on Thursday.
4) And Friday is Spirit Day-Twin Day. Students are welcome to dress up the same as another person.
5) And on Saturday, we have our Spring Beautification Day from 8:00-10:30 a.m. All families are
invited to come and help clean up our school and also remove weeds from several planters.
Light breakfast treats and drinks will be provided.
6) HW Help that was going to be starting this Tuesday has been postponed until Tuesday, 4.30.24.
7) The NFL Team-Los Angeles Rams will be hosting a Play 60 event at our school in June. It will be for
Kinder-5th grade students. PLAY 60's mission is to empower youth to be the most physically active
and healthy. PLAY 60 Field Days aim to make a positive impact on youth through teaching football
skills, emphasizing exercise and reinforcing the importance of character. See link below for an article
from a visit the Rams organization made to another school. Also, students will be taking home consent
forms that must be signed by a parent/guardian in order the student to participate.
